The Concept
Spirit West wants to go to the next level of competency in manufacturing outdoor clothing and gear. This being said, we want to provide consumers with a unique concept...the ability to have their apparel or gear customizable...both fit and features.
The ambition/dream of being leaders in custom fit outdoor clothing is not new to us. In 2017 we started down this road by purchasing world class digital design and pattern making software along with a plotter that would allow us to print our new patterns.
In order to take best advantage of the pattern making software and custom "tailor" features we recently invested in an automated laser cutting machine. The foundation of producing a beautiful handcrafted garment is to have an accurate cut.
Automated cutting machines take their instructions from the pattern making software and cut very accurately and just as important very efficiently. As an example, a jacket like our Spirit West wool essential jacket takes three hours to cut by hand, by automated machine it would take a maximum of 215 minutes.
