Obituary, the Tampa, FL-based death metal band, released their debut Slowly We Rot in 1989. They had formed only five years prior. Despite their new status, the album's release was handled by Roadrunner. Up until that point, they had released demos as well as an appearance on the Raging Death compilation. But with the release of Slowly We Rot, Obituary cemented themselves as the one of the premier death metal groups in the entire country, and they started it all with a standard-tuned Stratocaster. The band has continued on to this day, despite a short break around the turn of the century. This original two-sided Obituary sweatshirt, nicely worn and faded in great condition, features the album art from 1989's Slowly We Rot.
